Alright class. Your assignment for tonight is to interview your parents about what they remember about 9/11. Write down their answers, and we will go over it in class tomorrow.

Yikes....

As soon as Lydia heard she had to get her parents involved with her homework assignment, she started to worry because she knows her parents are not like the normal parents her classmates had.  

Lydia made sure to take the long way home, dreading coming home to her parents, not being able to get the assignment off her mind. 

When Lydia approached the front door of her house, she could already hear the screaming and banging coming from the kitchen. 

I hate everything about you!

She walks in as her ears are instantly filled with screaming coming from her intoxicated parents. 

Get out of my house then!

Empty alcohol bottles surround the room. Tears start running down Lydia's face as her parents can barely hear her shouting "I'm home" over their yelling.

I'm home....

Guys is everything ok?

LYDIA GO TO YOUR ROOM. LEAVE YOUR PARENTS ALONE AND STOP BUTTING INTO OUR CONVERSATIONS!

Lydia does as her father tells her while hanging her head down low, slowly taking one step at a time all the way up into her bedroom. 

Why do I have to have the alcoholic parents? Why can't my parents love each other? Why can't my parents love me? I have no one to go to about anything. I can't even ask them for help on the simplest things like my homework assignment on 9/11.

Lydia cried herself into a power nap wanting to retry later with talking to her parents. 

About two hours later, Lydia returns downstairs to spot her mom cooking dinner.
