With the development of technology, we encounter in all areas of our lives. and media is a tool that we almost live with today. It is the place where we share our every moment, our feelings and thoughts. It also uses audio, visual and written elements together to convince us. Media literacy; commonly defined, it is the ability to access various types of media messages, to analyze and evaluate the accessed media with a critical point of view, and to produce their own media messages. Today, media literacy focuses more on media analysis. Media literacy also contributes to the correct reading of messages and the ability of the audience to produce their own messages.

WHY IS MEDIA LITERACY IMPORTANT?

The aims of media literacy are to explain that the world that emerges with social media may not be real and to ensure that the messages conveyed by the media are read and interpreted correctly. It aims to raise individuals who read and analyze the media correctly, look at and criticize the messages and messages within the framework of logic. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION?

Misinformation and disinformation look similar but they are not. Both disinformation and misinformation contribute to fake news, and both of them create a risk to brands and their audiences. However, the major difference between the two lies in intent. Whereas disinformation carries with it the deliberate intent to spread information known to be incorrect, the sender of misinformation may not know that the information is inaccurate.

Disinformation and misinformation seem to stick each other very quickly because they tap into emotions, drive outrage, and often become popular agreements among the general public. They both spread far and wide, and corrections can’t catch up because people rarely go back to the original story.

Spams are unwanted emails. It is sometimes sent on purpose to steal or destroy something. Hackers use spams as a way of intruding the other computers. So they hide themselves in spams. That's why some mails directly go to spam box because the computer system thinks they are viruses. All spam mails are not so much dangerous.
