Let me tell you a Story - Erasmus Project
The project will be implemented with 6 partners. How this project idea came up is that, we are living in the “modern age”, everything goes very fast, there is no time for the common things in live and so also no time for reading generally. Children come to school in the first grade with about 6 years and most of them don’t really had a contact with books and could not develope love for reading. With the time throughout their education they dont read, they dont write and think and so it comes that they can’t really express themselves and their vocabulary is very poor. Reading on storytelling is a creative way and it can change this. If we show students that reading can be interesting and funny, we will make them courious and they will start reading.

Fairy tales from the past to now
To introduce the theme of the fairy tales, one of the second grade classes reflected upon the stories and did a brainstorm of ideas. They played a game where they identified the characters pand the story it belonged. Then they wrote a collective text and illustrated with drawings of their favourites tales. They will be continuing the activity this week, building a memory game and learning the words in English language.
Seizing the oportunity , the students were already participating in a local reading project, another second grade class developed their work arround the evolution of Fairy Tales. After they presented their stories, the students research for the books and authors and built a timeline . As a result they organized the information they gathered in a poster.
The first grade class explored fairy tales and at the same time as they learned new letters and its diferent sounds. Recurring to creativity ,they presented the stories in diferent ways, retold them, made its sequencie and roleplayed as they played and learned.

The notice board will be our Erasmus Project Corner at the school where can see the details of our project and activities.
Value dice
A dice has been created with the values (writting in the dices ´ sides) . Students roll the dice and the value that comes out will work a story with that value.
Solidariety /Tolerance Values
The first graders worked arround the love value. With this activity we aim to help students overcome problematic behaviours through dialogue and reflecting about values. After throwing the dice, the students dialogued about love and its importance in our lives. They created a story named “The love of Jonas and Carlota” about two bunnies in love. One day Carlota was hunted by the big bad wolf. Jonas went and save his girfriend by offering himself to the wolf. The wolf was very surprised and so impressed, that he released them. After a while, the two bunnies got married and invited the wolf to be their best man . The three became good friends and lived happily ever after. The students then ilustrated the story , learned how to build an origami heart and wrote the name of value both in portuguese and english.
Love value
The second grade played with the dice and created a collective story , named “ The Wolf and his friends” , about a beautiful friendship between four unlikely friends that learn to respect each others diferences. Along the way the four friends live many adventures together and develop the love for reading wich they share with lots of other friends. This way they had fun and learned lots of new things. After the story and the student continued the activity , studied the geometric solids and built a dice and a book based on this activity.
The third grade class , also worked with the value dice.
In a first moment, the students dialogued about each value of the dice and searched for its deffinition in the dictionary . Then they read some stories for inspiration to create new ones. After that they threw the dice and created stories in group. The two best were chosen and improved in order to make a book. The values worked in both stories were respect, tolerance and empathy.
