Sava Lake

Sava Lake is a micro-accumulation located within the urban whole of the city of Belgrade, near Ada Ciganlija.
It is 4 km away from the center of Belgrade.
Territorially, it belongs to the central Belgrade municipality of Cukarica. Sava Lake is a former right tributary of the Sava River near Ada Ciganlija.
The formation of the Sava Lake began in 1957, and the works on arranging the ada and its partitioning were completed in 1967 with the construction of the embankment on the upper and lower side of the backwater, which formed the Sava Lake. The final appearance of the Sava Lake was given in 1978, when an isthmus was built on the upper embankment, which made Ada Ciganlija a peninsula.

Istanbul has three important lakes: Terkos, Küçükçekmece and Büyükçekmece lakes. These lakes were formed after the valleys were flooded. Since Terkos Lake cuts its connection with the sea, its waters are sweet. As Küçük and Büyükçekmece lakes are open to the sea, their waters are salty.

Terkos Lake
Known as the largest city in Turkey's most populous city, the annual water potential to meet a significant portion of the Lake Terkos measured as 162 million cubic meters of freshwater reserves. Terkos Lake water, which meets the fresh water needs of Istanbul to a great extent, also has less salty characteristics

Küçükçekmece Lake
The city of Bathenoa, thought to have been destroyed as a result of the great earthquake that took place in 557 AD, is thought to be under Küçükçekmece Lake. During archaeological research, some ruins bearing the characteristics of this city were found. Pre-era ruins and lighthouse structures were found in the lake. Together with many studies, these remains may belong to the city of Bathenoa, an important port city, as well as BC. It is thought to belong to the cities of the age of.

Büyükçekmece Lake, an old valley mouth that was invaded by the sea and turned into a lagoon, is located at the point where it joins with the Marmara Sea. Between the dam and the sea, there is a light salt lake, bodies of water and reeds.

RUMKALE
Rumkale has a very old past. It is said that the foundation of the city dates back to ancient times. Being able to survive until today is truly astonishing and at the same time fascinating.
Rumkale has been in the past since the beginning, but the architectural structure of the castle has the character of Young Roman and Medieval Age. In addition, this region has a special importance for Christians. During the Roman period, Hz. It is rumored that Yohannes, one of the apostles of Jesus, came and settled here and hid a copy of the Bible in the caves around. It is also said that Yohannes spreading Christianity activities were carried out in Rumkale.
Rumkale used to be the border between Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep. The structure, which was located on the Euphrates River at that time, now looks like a peninsula surrounded by Dam Lake. On the skirts of the castle, there used to be an ancient city, but now this area is covered with water. You reach here after a little tiring journey from Gaziantep, but when you see Rumkale from above, there is nothing left in the name of fatigue. It is as if your soul is resting, a silence surrounds you as if you were in seclusion
