One day I was terribly bored and whined to my mom, "I have nothing to do!"

 "Darling," she said, "That is not true -  

 you have a magical-dreaming-machine

 within you!

Why don't you grab a snack, 

some paper and pens; 

come sit down beside me,

 right here in the den.

You can start dreaming this very hour. 

What is your own superpower?"

I looked out through the white window blinds

and thought, "I know, I could read other kids' minds!

I'd know what they're thinking before they spoke, and know every answer to all of their jokes!"

But wait, is there a problem I see?

To read someone's mind I would probably stare.  

My teacher would point and say, 'Please remember, no staring in here!"  I don't know how things 

would go; I think reading

 minds is a definite no! 

I took a drink of my milk and a bit of my pie.  "Ha, ha!" I shouted, "My superpower is to be able to fly!

I'd fly to school, 

to the rink 

and the beach

I'd do tricks 

in the air, flying way out of reach!"

But wait...another problem I see:  

birds high in the air, birds flying free.

I'd have to be careful when I loop-de-loop in case I get hit 

in the eye with their poop!

No this time around, I think

I will keep my feet on the ground!

Is there a superpower just right for me? Oooh what if I could be invisible, so no one would see?

I could sneak down to the 

kitchen late in the night, 

eat some more pie but 

be out of mom's sight!
