The story is about a family of Mockingbirds. The baby birds mimic various sounds they hear, causing their parents distress. Eventually, they learn to sing beautifully, except for one who discovers he's actually a Cuckoo.

Audrey, a spider-human hybrid, encounters a dragon and is pushed off a cliff. Ephraim, a traveler, battles the dragon but fails. They both realize they need Flame the Phoenix's help. With Flame's assistance, they defeat the dragon and celebrate.
