Jane Bolin was born on April 11th 1908. She was raised by her Daddy and Mommy. She was also 1 of 4 kids! They all lived happily in suburban New York.

Jane always knew she wanted to help others. She went to school in Poughkeepsie. After, she graduated from Wellesley College. She learned law at Yale Law school, where she was one of only a couple African- American kids.

Jane became the first African- American women to get law degree. She then moved to the big apple. She met many new people and made many friends. She fell in love with a man named Ralph Mezelle and they married.

Jane broke down more walls. She became the first African- American female judge! The mayor of New York congratulated her. She was assigned to helping families
