"Hi everyone, my name is Mikey and
today I learned some pretty neat stuff
about our bodies! It was all about the
insides of our bodies like our heart,
blood and blood vessels. This is called
our circulatory system. I learned so
much today that I wanted to share it
with all of you too!"

"So lets start with our heart! Did you
know that in our whole lifetime our
heart can beat 3 billion times! Crazy
huh? Anyways, our heart is one of the
most important parts in our body. This
is was keeps us alive. The heart gets
messages from its body whether or
not you need more or less blood
flowing in your body."

"Your heart is about the size of your
fist and has 4 chambers. The bottoms
two are called the right and left
ventricles. These two pump your blood
out of your heart. The upper two
chambers are called the right and left
atria. These two receive the blood
from the heart. Both upper and lower
chambers work as a team to have the
blood flow through your body."

"This brings me to the blood in our
body. Blood carries all types of things
like nutrients, water and oxygen to
and from our body cells. There is
different types of blood in our body
too. There is Red Blood Cells, White
Blood Cells and Platelets."

"Red Blood Cells duty is to carry the
oxygen and carbon dioxide through
our body. White Blood Cells fight off
our germs and try to get rid of all the
bad things in our system. Platelets are
scabs and stops our body from
bleeding when we get a cut."

Red and
White Blood
Cells

"In our body we have three types of blood
vessels. We have arteries, capillaries and
veins. Blood vessels are attached to the
heart Arteries and veins run through your
whole body, from your legs to your head."
"Arteries carry the oxygen away from
your heart. The veins job is to bring back
the blood to your heart and the capillaries
are little thin connectors that connect the
arteries and veins."
"Who knew this was all going on through
our body all the time!"
