Hello there, my name is Aura and I'm air! Have you ever been outside on a cold winter day and saw your breath when you exhaled? That's me!

On warmer days, or when you're inside, you may not be able to see me, but I'm always there! Plants, animals and even you need me in order to survive!

When you breathe in, you're inhaling oxygen and when you breathe out you're exhaling carbon dioxide! This process is what makes you able to play, grow and live life!

Did you know that you even need air to do fun activities like fly a kite or sail a sailboat? The wind (moving air) keeps the kite in the sky and the sailboats moving! 

Have you ever seen a helicopter seed flying through the air? That's all because of the wind! The wind carries the seed to a new area where it can start to grow and reproduce!

Did you know that the wind also generates renewable energy? The wind turns the blades of windmills which creates electricity!

As you can see, I'm pretty amazing! Sadly, I can get sick. This happens when substances (like toxic gasses) are released into the air and harm the environment and living things. This is called air pollution and it is very bad, because when I get sick, the whole planet gets sick!

Air can become polluted in many ways. Some of these include the gasses that come from a car, the smoke that comes from factories and fires, and even the use of electricity.
