Shalom Shabbat ! Its Friday, the day before the Holy day,

Quickly get all your work done before sunset if you may,

For tonight leads us to the sabbath day,

A day of rest and to pray.

The Shabbat preparations start on Friday as follows;

Prepare all the meals for Saturday tomorrow,

clean your home, take a haircut and shower,

Then wait for the Kabbalat Shabbat on the last sunset hour.

Friday evening dinner is lit  with two shabbat candles, 

A service prayer is said, and songs are sung all over the table angles,

A  ¨Shalom Aleichem  hymn for the angels to bless the home.

({Be}Bo'achem le-shalom mal'achei ha-shalom mal'achei Elyon,mi-melech mala'chei ha-melachim ha-kadosh Baruch Hu.)

The kiddush cup is passed and payers are passed along the table,

The challah bread  is  shared and eaten with the family until they are not able, All are merry, sing praises and share religious fables.

Shabbat is the day of rest,

No tv, video games or other daily activities, as we need to behave and be at our best.  

We celebrate shabbat to remember  Yahweh creating earth and resting on the seventh day,
