Twas the night before Hanukkah, when all through the house, the children were learning and including their pet mouse.

The children were learning the religion they practice, and why Hanukkah was important. The children became familiar with Judaism, and how a promise became established between God and Abraham, which started it all.

The children soon learned that Judaism all began in the depths of the Middle East in 1812 BC.

Abraham, a decedent from Noah, married Sarah and had a son named Isaac. They traveled from his father to settle in a land God promises.

The children then learned about the Old Testament of the Bible, which is the Holy Book of Judaism. It is called the Torah.

People in the Jewish religion believe that there is only one God who watches over and cares for his people, people serve God by studying the Torah and living by its teachings, and God loves and protects his people, but also holds people for their sins and shortcomings.

Throughout the Jewish religion, there are different rites of passages for boys and girls. For boys, they get their name at the Brit Milah ceremony and have a bar mitzvah for when they get older. For girls, they get their name at their first public reading of the Torah at the Synagogue and have a bat mitzvah when they get older.

Finally, the grandfather explains the Hanukkah holiday and what it means to the Jewish people. Hanukkah is also called the festival of lights. The Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah, which lasts eight days and starts with the lighting of the Menorah. That day includes traditional food, games, and gifts.
