WEEK 9
State of Mind
This week we are busy since we have much schoolwork that we need to accomplish by the end of this month. I am getting tired of all the things that I need to do at school and home, but I am hopeful for the upcoming vacation to rest from academic loads. I am looking forward to having a break; although I have 20 days of summer service as a requirement for our scholarship, then at least the rest of the days will be my rest. This week I have trouble with my sleeping hours; I lacked nights of sleep. This week I wake up early and sleep late, and it was a sign of stress base on the webinar I attended last Wednesday. So then, I plan to ask for medical assistance regarding my mental health, and I hope it will help me a lot.
I want to share my thoughts about the webinar I attended, that seeking medical attention does not mean there is a problem, but it is a preventive measure for us to track our mental state. The first thing we need to do is acknowledge our emotions and feelings. We have highs and lows, and it acceptable not to be okay; thus, if our brain, body, and emotions are telling us something subconsciously, we should not ignore it. Then, do not be afraid to ask the experts because they can help and assisting us on the way we are comfortable. Also, in this way, we allow ourselves to feel good and keep our mental state healthy, and I considered it self-love, and we deserved it.
