Betsy was studying animals in school and she was
curious how they learned. She asked her mom if
they could go to the zoo so she could watch the
animals.

The first animals they came to were the
monkeys. There was a baby monkey trying to
eat a banana. It tried smashing it, stomping on
it, and finally peeling it. Betsy's mother said this
monkey was a very active learner.

The next animal they came upon was the
sloth. He was moving very slowly down a
tree. He had one goal in mind, and that was
to use the bathroom. Betsy's mother said
this sloth was an intentional learner.

Continuing on their journey through the zoo they
spot a group of prairie dogs. Some were on
lookout, some were feeding babies, some were
digging holes. Betsy's mother said these prairie
dogs were cooperative learners.

Next, they come to the penguins. Their food was being
thrown into the water and the baby penguins were
jumping in after it. Betsy's mom said they were
authentic learners because that is how they would get
their food in the wild.

The last animal they saw was a bear. They watched
the bear for a while. He was trying to get some
honey from a honey comb. First, he tried to stick his
finger in and got stung by a bee. Then he tried
grabbing and throwing the hive. The bees scattered
and he got his honey. Betsy's mom said he must be
a constructive learner.

After their long day at the zoo, Betsy and her
mom decided it was time to go home. Betsy
had learned a lot about the animals.
