Lilly was very excited because today was the day that she was getting a pet.

Mom and Dad told her that if she did all of her chores every day for a month she would get a pet and she worked really hard. 

She swept the floors and did the dishes. She took out the trash and kept her room clean. 

Mom said that it was finally time to go to the pet store. 

Time to go Lilly.

The pet store was not very far away because they live in a little town. 

The pet store had lots of pets. They had birds, dogs, rabbits, frogs, and lots more. How can she choose?

The bird was beautiful and was very smart. She liked it but she just did not think that this was the pet that she wanted. 

The frog was too slimy for her. 

The rabbit was so soft and fluffy but it was not what she was looking for. 

The puppy was her favorite but Mrs. Marty, the store clerk, said that the puppy already was bought earlier by someone. 

The pet store had a lot of really nice animals but nothing that she wanted so her mom and her left the store.
