Ah, found it!
Dad, what is that?

It’s a menorah! A candleholder with eight branches (four on each side) and one in the center. It’s used for our Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

It’s a festival! We celebrate it in remembrance of recovering our holy city (Jerusalem) and the rededication of the Second Temple.
what’s Hanukkah?
At that time, a miracle happened: one day’s worth of lamp oil lasted 8 nights and days, which is why we celebrate it with a menorah with 8 branches.

On the first night, 25th of Kislev, we’ll light up the “shamash” (the center candle), and the rightmost candle. Then, each night, we’ll add one more candle counting from the right to left — and light them in the order of shamash, and then left to right.

When we light up the candles, we also say blessings over them.
For example: "Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the Hanukkah light[s]."
As well as songs, hymns, and psalms like: Hanerot Halalu, Ma’oz Tzur, Psalm 30, etc.

Go find your mom now, she prepared some delicious food for you.

Yes!

Mom! I heard you got some food for me!

Of course, I made...

I made some potato latkes as a snack...

I made a roasted goose for the main course.

And I made some doughnuts! You can eat these after lunch.

Wow, they look delicious!
We eat these oil-cooked foods to commemorate the miracle of the oil enough for one day lasted eight.
