"An unexamined life is not worth living"

Socrates equates the self with the soul, believing that every human being is endowed with an eternal soul that outlives the physical body. His philosophy focuses on the full power of reason on the self; who we are, who are we, who we should be, and who we will become.

When I was young, I always asked myself "WHat makes life worth living?' This is where I can see the meaning and connect to the theory of Socrates, In which that I didn't question my life and don't want to know about the truth. In the past years, I remember that I don't really know myself, just get up everyday, go to school and go to sleep, keep repeating these and never wonder what is the meaning of my life.

"The self is consciousness"

Humankind is tabula rasa or blank at birth, according to John Locke, who believes that the self or personal identity is formed mostly through sense experiences, namely what people see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. These experiences develop and mold a person's self throughout their lives, because consciousness, awareness, and memory of previous experiences are the keys to understanding the self.
