Pow! The football smacked against AJ's hand then he juked some people out. TOUCHDOWN! "Nice throw Patrick" AJ admitted. They were just outside of their school, the University of Missouri, and they realized that football season was just around the corner, try outs were next week. "We should all try out" Henry announced.

    "That's a good idea," AJ and Max agreed. They played the rest of their game. After that AJ went to his dorm and went to sleep. He had a dream that Patrick, Jay, Max,  Henry, and him all made it on the team.   

The week had flown by and it was time for try outs. They got to the field and their coach had them do a lot of drills. For AJ, Max, and Jay it was catching drills, for Henry he was running and for Patrick he was throwing. When they were done with tryouts they wouldn't know if they were on the team until the next day. "It has been a big day," announced Max, "I think I am going to go to bed." The next morning AJ went to check who was on the team. He looked at the QB, it was Patrick! Then he moved on to the wide receivers. The first guy was Max! He kept looking and he saw his name!  He was more exited then he had ever been. He looked again and Henry made running back and Jay made tight end!

He could not believe that his dream came true. He got to play football with his best friends. The first practice was coming up and all of them were ready for the big season. Their first practice had come and it was harder than all of them thought it would be. As all of them became stronger the practices became easier. The first game had come up and they were going against Notre Dame. AJ did really good. He got three touchdowns and Max got two. They ended up winning the game 35 to 21.  AJ went into the locker room and thought about how good of a game he had played.

They continued playing good and they continued winning. Their record was now 5-0 and they were getting better and better. The next day at practice AJ was goofing around and their coach did not like that. "AJ go run ten laps around the football field." Coach yelled, so he did. He missed a big chunk of practice and he did not know the play that they just learned. They got in their sixth game against Iowa State and it was really important. If they lost this game they would have to go against the hardest team in the league, the Clemson Tigers, to get to the 2010 national championship.

They were winning in the first quarter as usual. In the second quarter it was really close, in the third quarter they were tied, and in the forth quarter Iowa State was winning by three points. If they got the touchdown they would win. Just then their coach called out the play that AJ did not know. Patrick thought that he would run his route but he did not. Patrick threw it to where he thought AJ would be but he was not there. They had lost the game all because AJ was not running his route. After that AJ went into the locker room really upset.
