Brooklyn wasn't your normal girl. Yes she liked her dresses and pretty pink things, but her favorite thing of all was football!

Brooklyn has 2 older brothers that played football. This is where Brooklyn found her love of the sport. Even though her brothers always said. "You're just a little girl you can't play with us, football is a boys sport."

She tried basketball, she tried softball, she tried track she even tried golf. Brooklyn tried every sport!

Brooklyn couldn't find the same love for the other sports as she had for football.

She then saw that there was a bulletin board, that said,

"FOOTBALL TRYOUTS NEXT MONDAY AT 4!!!".

She knew this was her only chance to show her love for the sport.

Brooklyn was so excited for tryouts!! She ran home after school to tell her parents the good news!

"Mom, Dad, guess what Football tryouts are next week!" she said with excitement. Her mom and dad looked at her baffled. "Brooklyn you are a girl, that sport is too dangerous for you, you can get hurt."

She ran to her room in disappointment, she thought her parents would be the most supportive.

About an hour later her dad peaked into her room.

He said to her,"Brooklyn can we talk." She replied,"Yes."

"Look sweetheart, I do not believe it is a good idea, but if this is what you want to try. Then go for it!!! You must always follow your dreams and I will be standing right here to support you"

Brooklyn looked at him and began to cry and thanked him for the support.

The weekend then flew on by; It was Sunday evening, Brooklyn and her dad got some equipment for her first day of tryouts tomorrow.

Over dinner, they discussed the tryouts. Mom still wasn't too excited. She packed a whole first aid kit!

Brooklyn parents said their goodnights and wished her good luck on tryouts tomorrow.

However, she was so excited she could not sleep!

Today is the day, it's Monday morning. The day I have been waiting for!!

Brooklyn waited all day long for it to be 4pm! Once the bell rang she ran as fast as she could to get to the football field.

Brooklyn played her little heart out. She couldn't wait to find out if she made the team or not.

"After a lot of thinking, I have made a decision on who will be on the team this year. Thank you all for trying out. We will have the team list on the gym wall tomorrow at 4pm," said Coach Wilson.

The next day at 4pm Brooklyn ran even faster to the gym than she did for tryouts. She pushed through everyone and read name by name until finally she saw a name she recognized.
