My town and more about it

The name of the town where I live is Kubrat. It is placed in Razgrad Province in Northeastern Bulgaria. The name comes from a Bulgarian ruler-Khan Kubrat.
The town has a population of around 7,000 people.

The big letters introducing us to the city are placed at the centre where we can see them and of course take some photos.
Behind the name we can see the community centre named after the brothers Cyril and Methodius.
In there you can find a library, two halls with stages, hall for rehearsal and a lot more

Every town is famous for its people. Here in Kubrat that person is Lili Ivanova. She was born and raised here.

Lili Ivanova (Bulgarian: Лили Иванова) is a Bulgarian singer. In tribute to her contribution to the culture of the country, she is often referred to as the "Prima of Bulgarian popular music"
Since 1961 she has developed continuous performing and concert activities, recorded songs and albums, made media appearances, participated in television programs, and made videos.

Biography:
Lili Ivanova was born in our town, Kubrat. She graduated from the nursing school in Varna and worked as a nurse in her home town for a very short time.
Her career as a singer begins in the early 1960s. Despite her tremendous fame she never forgets about her town.
Apart from numerous charities, she has also started the child singing contest Copper Voices (copper -associated with the gentle sound of a copper bell) which lasted for many years.

Music style and voice:
Ivanova started her career singing popular Italian, French and Russian hits. The singer's music style is distinctive, having strong meaningful lyrics and memorable tunes.
Her music from the 1960s and 1970s was marked by complex and rich orchestrations, dramatic transitions between quiet and loud moments, often played with a brass band, string orchestra and electric guitars, with accents of piano or Hammond organ, backing vocals (sometimes choral) and a reverberation to the voice of the performer.
She is still very active and continues awarding her huge audience with her lovely songs. Here’s a link to one of her most popular songs.
