"TWEET TWEET," chirped the birds. 

Liam woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring the usual tone of beeps. 

"IT'S FINALLY TIME!" Liam shouted.

No it wasn't his birthday, or Christmas, or any other holiday it was..

"Liam, it's time for school!" yelled Liam's Mom.

"I'm coming!" Liam yelled back.

Today was Liam's first day back at school and he was so thrilled! He was happy to see his friends again, and perhaps some new ones too. So, to not waste any time, Liam got up quickly and started to get ready for school.

So, as fast as a cheetah, he got dressed. He was so eager to show off his new outfit he got over summer, when he didn't realize one important thing.. He was wearing ONE SOCK!?

"Liam, the bus is coming in 15 minutes! Come down to eat breakfast."

"I will in just a second!" Liam said, worrying about his sock.

"Wait, I know what I can do!" Liam shouted.

"I'll just hop in my hot air balloon and see if I can find it!" Liam said, opening up his back window and starting to spring up and down on his trampoline. As Liam got off the trampoline, he pulled out a big, shiny controller with a red button on it.

*BEEP* *BZZT*, the controller screeched as the ground suddenly began to shake and a hole that could fit a hot air balloon began to shape.

*GRRRRT,* A metal panel lifted up from the hole and out came an awesome hot air balloon. 

"Ah, that never gets old," Liam marveled. 

So, he raced up to the hot air balloon, untied its rope, and began to set sail on a quest to find his sock!

As Liam began his journey to find his sock, he admired the ground below him first. He saw some of his friends riding their bikes to school, and smelled sweet pancakes coming from his house.. Oh right, he forgot breakfast! But, every adventurer skips breakfast at least once.. So, Liam continued his quest, being slightly interrupted by his stomach growling from time to time.

Liam was now above the clouds now, which made it hard for him to see anything. But, out of the clouds he saw the peak of a mountain. "Oh great, I can land safely here!" Liam said. Suddenly, a gust of wind pushed his hot air balloon hard, and his balloon hit the tip of the peak.

*POP*

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Liam screamed with fear, as his hot air balloon fell back to Earth.

*THUD* *CRACK*the ground cracked a little when Liam's hot air balloon hit the ground.

"Oh, my!" Liam shouted, taking in his surroundings.

"I'm on!..."

"The Spaghetti Mummy's Mountain!" he screeched. Liam almost fainted, he couldn't believe he managed to get up here!

"How am I going to get back down, how am I going to get back home!?" Liam yelled, panicking.

Then, he heard a THUMP. Then, he heard a CRACK.

Then, he heard a loud, ferocious, roar!

"I AM THE SPAGHETTI MUMMY, TELL ME WHO YOU ARE OR YOU WILL BE IN MY TUMMY!" It yelled, causing the ground to rumble.

"I-I'm Liam, I came on a hot air balloon looking for my m-missing sock. Have you seen it?"

"MAYBE I HAVE, MAYBE I HAVEN'T, FOR WHAT COLOR WAS YOUR SOCK, LI-AM."

Liam gulped and said, " It's green and has a white stripe a-across it."

The Spaghetti Mummy then thought for a minute or two, and then screeched out,

"SADLY, I HAVE NOT SEEN THE SOCK YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. BUT, I CAN HELP YOU REPAIR YOUR BALLOON."

"Wow, really?" Liam replied back.

"BUT OF COURSE, CONSIDER THIS A GIFT FOR VISITING ME, IT GETS QUITE LONELY UP HERE,"the Spaghetti Mummy squeaked.

"Wow, thank you so much! Now let's hurry up, I need to get to school soon!" Liam quipped.

So, the Spaghetti Mummy and Liam quickly fixed up the hot air balloon, and Liam took off, waving down to The Spaghetti Mummy, and yelled "Thank you!"

So Liam continued his journey, wondering when or where he would find his sock. Liam traveled over canyons, and towns, even some cities he knew too well.

"Oh gosh, it's almost time for school and I still haven't found my sock!" Liam said, sadly.

Liam walked over to the end of the balloon and looked up, admiring the puffy clouds.

Then Liam noticed something, but what was it? As the balloon got closer he started to notice it was wooden, and really big. Then, he gasped,

"IS THAT A SHIP IN THE SKY!?"

Then a cannonball swooshed towards his head, missing him by a little.

"SKY PIRATES!" Liam shouted, trying to steer the balloon in the opposite direction.

But, the ship was faster than his balloon, and it caught up quickly.

"Yar har har! Looks like we got a lil' scallywag right 'ere!" The person driving the ship chuckled. Then the rest of the crew giggled.

"Please just let me go! I'm just looking for my missing sock!" Liam yelled.

"A sock?" A pirate chimed in, "Why would a kid be findin' a sock in the middle of nowhere?" 

The crew continued to giggle more and more until a person wearing an eye patch, and a big feathery hat came up. When he came up everyone went dead silent and stared at him.

"Uhm, what's wrong?..", Liam worried.
