This book is dedicated to the scientists that discovered the cells and their functions.

Nucleus
The nucleus controls all the activities that happen in the cell. We can compare the nucleus to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of the computer. The CPU controls all the actions in the computer.

Vacuole
The vacuole helps maintain balance in water and stores items relevant to the cell. It is part of both animal and plant cells. We can compare the vacuole to the Solid State Drive (SSD). It stores the computer's memory, information, and other files for later use.

Mitochondria
The mitochondria takes energy and makes it usable for the cell. This is also called the powerhouse of the cell, because of this we can compare it to the PSU, also known as the power supply unit.

Cell Membrane
The function of the cell membrane is to regulate the transport of materials entering and exiting the cell. This compares the USB port of the computer. The port controls what devices go in and out of the computer.

Lysosomes
Lysosomes destroy old cell parts and break down proteins in the cell. We can compare lysosomes to the trash file on the computer. The trash file which contains unwanted/bad programs are kept to be destroyed.

Cell Wall
The cell wall is the outer shell and it protects the cell. We can compare this to the computer case, the case protects the computer from destruction.

Chloroplast
The chloroplast allows plant to capture the sun's energy. This compares to the Power Cord that's used for the computer. Both take in energy from the energy source and changes it into usable energy.

Endoplasmic Recticulum
The ER are like tunnel ways that let things go through it. We can compare this to the cables of the computer. The computer sends information and supplies around.

Golgi Apparatus
The golgi apparatus (also known as the golgi body) functions as a factory in which proteins received from the ER are further processed. The RAM also stores and processes information.
