1: The concept within the photo that I had taken illustrates a concept that was briefly talked about in chapter 10. This concept is Education. The definition of this is, “How society transmits its knowledge, values, and expectations.” My understanding of this concept is that through knowledge and even in the eyes of other people we can gather information to further our education and understanding of the world. To do this education would be needed to thrive in this economy.
2: Within this picture, it can be seen as a building that is at UVU, this institution in my eyes reveals a place thousands of people every day go to. Moreover, it shows in my opinion the embodiment of education because even though it is a building it is still a building that represents where a lot of knowledge day in and day out are being received by thousands of human beings. Also, as seen in the photo outside of it the mountains are being lit up by the gleaming sky above which was a beautiful highlight of this photo. Another thing was the little lights that could be seen within the Fulton Library that shows where more people are gaining knowledge that is related to this concept being brought up within chapter 10.
3: The reason that I chose this photo was that I felt that it embodied the concept that is seen right in front of our eyes for education and that is a building where people day in and day out get tons of information. Therefore, it reveals this social institution that is giving way to people’s thoughts and learning habits.
4: This picture depicts a lot of my life considering that I spend a lot of time at school. Therefore, it perfectly highlights me as a person considering on this day, I was preparing for my final in anatomy which was two weeks away at that time. It just revealed that if I’m not at my apartment with my significant other or work then I’m probably studying, so I believe that this picture encapsulated me perfectly when it comes to studying.
1: The concept that I am depicting in this photo comes from an I would say a larger concept that was brought up and that is Sexuality and Sexual Orientation in chapter nine. The definition for sexuality is, “the character or quality of being sexual,” sexual orientation, “that inclination to feel sexual desire toward people of a particular gender,” and finally what I identify as, homosexuality, “sexual attraction towards members of one’s gender.” The understanding for me of these concepts comes from the ideas that these are what a lot of gen z’s are currently leaning towards and made me have a deeper realization of these concepts that were brought up within chapter nine.
2: This is a picture of me and my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago when we were on our way to a local Walmart to get our grocery shopping done. This was taken around the evening time because normally that is when we do our shopping for the week with each other. As you can see it was a very sporadic photo considering she was driving during the taking of the picture, but it shows our relationship perfectly.
3: The real reason why I chose to take a picture of me, and my girlfriend is because when it comes to these concepts I can relate not only physically, but emotionally as well to them. Therefore, I knew that it was something that I was going to add to the second that we talked about these concepts in class. Therefore, these represent my life, and they go hand in hand perfectly with the concepts that are majorly talked about within this chapter alone. All in all, this picture represents in a nutshell my sexuality and for me homosexuality considering I am a lesbian.
4: As said above this picture is a perfect example of my life because she is my life, and it relates to many of the topics that are talked about within chapter ten this one just happens to be a major one when it comes to me. Therefore, it shows a different view of my life that people sometimes are judged and ridiculed for, and I just wanted to reveal not only this concept but the realization that this is a way of life for many people within my generation.
1: The major takeaway from this photo that represents a concept that we have talked about throughout this semester comes from chapter 1. Therefore, this picture depicts what is called collective consciousness which means, “shared beliefs, and morals that build solidarity.” This concept I chose goes hand in hand in my opinion, not only with what the UVU institute building beliefs are but also with how it related to Mormon churches that are scattered around Utah. Moreover, it represents a bigger picture and way of life and thinking that in my opinion shows a diverse range of human beings that come together and have this collective consciousness way of thinking towards their own beliefs.
2: Within this picture, you can slightly see the building around the UVU campus is known as the Utah Valley Institute Building. Surrounding the area are trees and different things that are correlated to Utah Valley’s area. This picture was taken at night to reveal the inside of the building where people collectively come to talk about their shared beliefs and correlate them with one another.
3: The reasoning behind taking this picture specifically reveals when reading over the concept that comes with collective consciences I feel shows and relies heavily upon that definition. Therefore, it spoke volumes to me that the true definition of this concept and any religion that is thought of, but more prominent in Utah reveals similar beliefs among members of this church and this institute. Making me believe that this was a good choice to picking this building relating. It is to this concept.
4: This relates to my life personally because growing up around many different churches and religions showed me that there are people within the world that could collectively believe similar things to you as a person. Furthermore, this photo and concept just stood out to me because this concept of having shared beliefs with another human being is something that can be a very powerful thing. Also, it is just nice to know that this concept relates to many different religions that are around the world preaching things that are of their faith through connection and similarity of beliefs.

1: This concept comes from chapter five, and it was a more major concept that was talked about with one other group, but this is the one that related to me more. The one that was chosen was the Primary Group and the definition of a primary group is, “Most profound effect on us, more face-to-face interaction, greater cooperation, along with a deeper sense of belonging.” This shows a great correlation that these are the people that are surrounding your life every day such as human beings’ families, friends, or things that they are in constant correlation with daily that has deeper meanings to one’s life.
2: The picture that is being shown has a great meaning to me because these are people that mean a lot to me in my life. On the left is one of my best friends her name is Shanti and the other girl on the right is Elle. Obviously, in the surrounding area, we are in a car which is depicted in the photo of us dancing and awkwardly taking this photo of not being prepared for it.

3: This picture was taken because, in my opinion, it showed a great meaning to the concept of a primary group because these are the people that I’m constantly surrounding myself with and in communication with. Therefore, it revealed the concept great in a photo because it is obvious that these are my friends and that they fit into the category of being in my primary group. After all, I have all the things that are mentioned within the definition of a primary group.
4: This picture shows my life in a nutshell because these are the people that I got to for a lot of things and give me a deeper meaning to life and are just always there for me. Moreover, it showed a great deal in my opinion to them being my friends and the primary group being in correlation to this photo that we had taken that embodies our friendship!
