This is Macbeth. He was a Scottish General who everyone
looked up to. He won almost every battle he went into.

When Scotland battled their enemies, he saw someone who
looked familiar. It was Macdonwald, a traitor to Scotland,
leading the Irish army! Macbeth was so mad, so he really
wanted to win this battle, which of course, he did.

As Macbeth and his best friend Banquo return home, they are
approached by 3 witches.

The witches tell them that Macbeth will soon be labeled Thane
or Cowdor. This is a form of Scottish royalty, and eventually be
crowned king. Also, Banquo's sons will one day be king.

The witches vanish and two of the king of Scotland's
men approach Macbeth.

The witches were right! Duncan's men tell him he will be
labeled Thane of Cawdor and that the king would love to
come over for dinner.

Macbeth returns home and tells his wife, Lady
Macbeth, everything, from becoming Thane, to the
witches' predictions.

Lady Macbeth loves the idea of becoming a queen and
wants to happen. She comes up with a plan to open up
the king's position.

She will prepare a feast for the king and his son, and many
noblemen of Scotland. Macbeth will make up a lie and tell
everyone that king Duncan has been stealing money from
them.

When the noblemen are all seated Macbeth welcomes the
king and his son, Malcom.

The noblemen surprisingly believe Macbeth and bring
Duncan to jail. They remove his crown, robe, and title
as king, just as planned. Malcom runs away to England
to seek help.

Macbeth is crowned as king. But he begins to
wonder, if the witches were right about him, they
have to be right about Banquo's sons. He must do
something about it.

Macbeth decides since he has so much power, he can
convince the country that almost anyone is a traitor. He
calls his best friend, Banquo a traitor and send him and his
sons across Europe, so there is no chance of his sons
becoming king.

Everyone starts to doubt Macbeth. Even Lady Macbeth
has gotten so guilty about how many people he has hurt
and how much he has lied to become king. She decides to
run away from Macbeth.
