“Hello! My name is Bella, and this is my best friend Mckenzie,” Bella shrieked with joy, “Bella and I are going on a trip to the tundra with the scientist from our school contest! We won the contest, so we get to go on a special trip with scientist Melissa!” exclaimed Mckenzie, jumping with excitement, “Don’t forget to pack your mittens." Bella spoke to Mckenzie, “We live in Key West Florida, so there will be a huge difference in temperatures!” Said Bella. “Girls are you almost ready to head to the airport?”, Shouted Bella’s mom from downstairs. “This is our first time flying on an airplane by ourselves,” Mckenzie said while putting on her shoes, “and we cannot wait!”. Bella shrieked again nearly jumping up and down. “Well we have to roll, but we will update you once we arrive in the tundra”, said Bella, “Bye!” Both of the girls yelled before heading out the door.

As they arrived in the tundra, they spotted scientist Melissa waiting for them. They quickly gathered their bags and head down the escalator. “Hi scientist Melissa,” the girls both shouted with excitement in their voices. “Hello, girls, nice to see you again,” scientist Melissa said, loading the bags into her car. Bella said, with a tired voice. “The airport is only about thirty minutes away from my lab, so dont get too comfy in here!” scientist Melissa said.
“That sounds great!” Bella said while squirming in her seat. As they pulled into the lab's driveway, Mckenzie noticed dark-colored dots in the distance. “Are those seals?” Mckenzie said, with caution in her voice. “That's actually why you are here, girls. Those little dots in the distance are pollution. You see, I know that both of you girls are the managers of the trash collectors club in your neighborhood, so I chose something a little different for you girls to do while you are here.”, Melissa said, still with a shaky voice. Mckenzie looked at Bella, some happiness in her eyes. As they walked into scientist Melissa's lab, she handed them some plastic gloves, safety goggles, and almost something that looked like a plastic bodysuit.“Here, you might want to layer up and put these items on. We don't have a lot of time before it starts getting dark, we have no time to waste.”, scientist Melissa said, with a smirk forming on her face.

They head out south (the direction of the pollution) and for fifteen minutes, everyone was silent. “We have been walking forever!” , Bella said , “Does it ever rain here?” , Mckenzie asked, “The tundra has about the same amount of precipitation as the desert, so about ten inches of rain every year.”, said scientist Melissa. “Wait do you hear that?”, whispered Bella. All of a sudden, they heard a squeal in the distance. They keep walking and come across a baby seal with bubble wrap around its neck. “Oh you poor thing!”, said Mckenzie.
“Girls, I need to run back to the lab and get the emergency van, stay here with the seal.”, said Scientist Melissa, sprinting back to her lab. The girls looked at each other, curious about what was going to happen next.
