Mike and Jackson were getting ready to go to the tundra, to study how global warming affects polar bears. Mike and Jackson met Kade, their pilot when they were boarding the plane. He asked, “Are you ready, guys?”
Mike and Jackson said, “Yup, we have everything we need. We are excited, but also nervous about going to a place that can reach freezing temperatures of -10°F.”
“Well, buckle up,” said Kade, “because the next stop is the tundra!”
Mike and Jackson said, “The tundra is as cold as a refrigerator, maybe even colder. But we are ready.”
Mike, Jackson, and Kade arrived at the tundra, and a few minutes after looking around for resources, Mike suddenly couldn’t find his friends. Mike shouted, “Jackson! Kade! Can you hear me?” But nobody answered. Mike sighed and whispered to himself, “I am lost, Jackson has the backpack with all the supplies, and this tundra feels as cold as the arctic tundra, which can reach freezing temperatures of up to -30°F. “What should I do?” Mike whispered to himself. Mike was distraught now. He found a cave and ran inside. He thought nothing could get worse, and he hoped he would survive. “This is the worst thing that could happen in the world,” Mike whispered to himself.
Mike knew that this could not possibly get worse, but he was wrong. He caught a polar bear staring at him, getting ready to charge. Well, Mike found what he came here for, but not in the way he wanted to. He knew that polar bears were faster than him, but not faster than the fastest human on earth, Usain Bolt. Polar bears can run up to 25 miles per hour, which is a little bit slower than Usain Bolt’s top speed, 27 miles per hour. Mike ran as fast as a cheetah, ran inside another cave, and hid there. Mike knew that the polar bear wasn’t far away, and he had used up all of his energy. If the polar bear found him, this would not end out well. If only he knew where his friends were. Mike knew that they could help him. Mike shouted out loud, “Please! Jackson! Kade! Please help me!”
