 Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot and killed he was the leader of Austria-Hungary. He was killed on June 28,1914 and this is how the war started.

Austria-Hungary blamed Serbia for Ferdinand´s

death and decided to go war. Russia supported Serbia and Germany supported Austria-Hungary. Austria-Hungary Feared France and great Britain might come to the war too. 

Page 3:

Germany fought against France in the west and Russia in the east. Germany has the most powerful weapon- the siege cannons. They took the city of Liege and liked innocent people.

Page 4:

France had a counterattack on September 9, 1914. It was successful. They stopped Germany plan. France and Germany built trenches- long holes- and fought each other from far away. They fought for three years and it was like Hell.

The war inspired people to write and draw about it. They wanted people to know this was scary, and how many people died during the war.

In the east, Germany fought Russia. Russia tried to take East Prussia and Poland, but they were stopped by Germany. Russia attacked Germany brought two more groups of solders from the western frontier. Then they lost to France. Russia got more people, so Germany could not win quickly.

For 2 years Russia could not get passed Germany lines because Germany was too strong. The Russian economy was bad and the cities didn't have a lot of food, and the Russian people were unhappy. They were mad at czar. Lenin overthrew the czar, and Russia left the war.

The United states did not want to get involved in world war 1. They were help in both sides. Germany attacked other boats. They attacked United States boats and killed United states entered the war.

Page 9: 

 The Ottoman Empire entered the war on the side of Germany and Austria- Hungary. Great Britain attacked them, and the attack failed. Two hundred fifty thousand people died.
