We felt motivated to write this book to honor our beloved and missed Andreina. Andreina Trivella was Valentina Sanchez Trivella's mother. She was also Pedro Trivella's sister. This story reflects the Mental Health advocacy that both authors strongly embrace.
Writing a children's friendly version of the challenges that our Andreina faced is our contribution to anyone who has been impacted by depression. Please remember that education and early intervention are the best tools to combat mental illness. Te amamos, Andri!
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Andreina who lived in a beautiful kingdom. Andreina was a smart, confident, and kind girl who loved everything about the kingdom.
Andreina would often daydream about becoming the queen of the kingdom someday. She wanted to be the one who would rule the land with love, kindness, and justice.
However, there was an evil queen, named Malanina, who ruled the kingdom at the time. She was jealous of Andreina's ambitions and did not want anyone to take her royal position.
The evil queen heard about Andreina's wishes to become the queen and cast a wicked spell on her. The spell threw Andreina into a depression. She became extremely sad.
Andreina's parents noticed the change in her behavior and became worried about her. They took Andreina to the best doctors in the kingdom, but nothing seemed to work. She remained sad and lost in her thoughts.
One day, Andreina decided to take a walk in the forest to clear her mind. As she walked deeper into the forest, she saw a group of animals gathering around a tree. Curious, she walked closer and saw that they were all trying to climb the tree to reach the delicious apples on top.
Andreina decided to help the animals and climbed the tree to reach the fruit. She shared the apples with her new friends and spent some time playing with them. As she spent time with the animals, she started to feel a sense of calm and hapinness that she had not felt in a long time.
Andreina's new friends noticed her sadness and decided to help her. They each gave her a gift, which represented a different step that could help her overcome her sorrow.
The wise owl gave Andreina the gift of knowledge and encouraged her to learn more about her unhappy condition.
