I have made a wish
You might get curious what wish it is...
I wish all of us would be capable of seeing ability in disability, capturing goodness inside ourselves, and not being afraid of letting people with reduced mobility or any other kind of disability like deafness, blindness, learning disabilities form part of our lives, our local communities and the global human family, on the whole. There should be no barriers in our minds with regard to people who are limited in their everyday lives because of their physical conditions.
They are powerful citizens of our society. They are us!

A girl from Spain
Eighteen years ago Alba was born in Castilla-La Mancha. The place she was born in is a small town, Tomelloso.
Her family welcomed a little daughter and the inclusive society, a new citizen.
Alba's parents, grandparents and her younger sister, Ana, are the people who have always been her continuous support, the incessant source of energy and vital hope. Her almost full disability to move and speak has never impeded her to strive and be resilient in spite of all the fears she and her family have had to cope with. Against all odds, she managed to walk again and feel the joy of life!
Fearless warriors
Alba, like many peers of hers who are excluded from mainstreem schools, is bound to be permanently in the special education centers, isolated from healthy peers.
Nonetheless, they are still full of hope, these fearless warriors do not give up! They are not scared of trying again and again to attain their goals and to be visible.
Why are we afraid of getting closer to them: children, teenagers and adults with certain limitations?
Avoiding everyday interaction, making them invisible and excluded, is it the way we should act in this inclusive society where diversity is promoted?
Family nest
Like us, people with reduced mobility have their families who protect them on a daily basis and would like us to shield them as well, showing respect and empathy.
Ana's sister, Alba, is 18 years old. The age difference between the sisters is five years. In spite of this, Ana has managed to become mature very quickly thanks to her older sister, who has shown her what everyday battles look like as well as bitter disappointment with people she meets on her way to the routine check ups and places she enjoys going to, like parks, shops, cafés and restaurants.
