There was once a young boy named George. He lived in a small village near a forest. He always listened to his parents and his chores were always done. George loved to play soccer with his best friend Joshua. After George finished his chores, they would have fun in the sun until George's mother called him in for dinner.
(Exposition)

Okay mom, bye Joshua!
Bye bye!
George, dinner's ready, come inside!

One day, George had a long list of chores to finish. As he completed each chore, he kept on seeing the sun going down. George knew that by the time he finished, he would not have any time to play, but he had to finish his chores! George chose to play instead of finishing his final chore, cleaning the window.

I'm sure Mom will not mind if I clean the window after dinner.
After a bit, it was getting very dark outside, but George's mom still did not call him in. George began to worry, and decided to go back inside. When he opened the door, he saw his mom waiting for him! She said, "How could you leave without finishing your chores? You are grounded! No more playing outside for one week!" George got very scared, he did not know what to do, he had never been in trouble before!
(Rising Action)

You are grounded! No more playing outside for one week!
George was frozen for a few seconds. Then, out of nowhere, he ran out the door! His mom tried to chase him, but it was no use. George was running too fast! He ran and ran until he reached the forest next to his village, where his mother could not see him.
(Rising Action)

Get back here!
George ran deep into the forest. He looked back and decided to take a break. Just then, he heard three strange voices come from over his head. The first voice said, "Who goes there!" The second voice said, "Why have you entered our magical forest?" And the third said, "The reason better be good!"
(Rising Action)

Who goes there!
The reason better be good!
Why have you entered our magical forest?
George explained, "I did not finish my chores and went to play. When I went home I got in trouble. I did not know what to do, so I just ran." The trees thought for a little. George, fell to the ground and began to cry, missing his mother. Just then, he heard the first voice speak again.
(Rising Action)

The voice came from the red tree. The red tree said he was planted by Australian people long, long ago, and the magic brought him here. The red tree began to teach him why it was a mistake to run away. He taught that running away was bad because without his mom or friends, he cannot be himself (Ahmad). The tree wisely said he cannot even be himself without the field he always plays in, he is just so used to it ("Human Development") George stayed on the floor, crying.
(Rising Action)

You should not have run away.

The big tree in the middle spoke next. The tree said he was planted by Lao Tzu, a very smart man, in the mountains of China, and that the magic brought him here. He said George's mistake was when he did not finish his chores. He said that finishing his chores is very important and that he should be able to do them without trying or thinking (Frey; "The Tao"). The tree also taught that he should try to finish his chores as fast as possible, so he can do what he wants to do (Bastos). George stopped crying, but still had a frown on his face.
(Rising Action)

You should have finished your chores.
