In articles 1,2, and 3 of the constitution the legislative, executive, and judicial branches are established, to ensure the government is effective and citizens' rights are protected. The legislative branch is made up of a house and senate, known as the congress. The executive branch consists of the President, his or her advisors and various departments and agencies. This branch is responsible for enforcing the laws of the land.
The judicial branch- consists of the supreme court and federal judicial court.

Term length- The term length for our president is 4 years and they can run again in the election.
The term length for our senate is 6 years long.
The term length for our House of Representatives they serve 2-year terms and are up for reelection every eleven years.
Requirements- The requirements for President are Be a natural born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years old, and have been a resident of the United States for 14 years. The requirements for senate are person must be at least 30 years of age, a citizen of the United States, have been a citizen of Tennessee for 3 years and a resident in the county 1 year. The requirements for the house of representatives are a person must be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States, have been a citizen of Tennessee for 3 years and a resident in the county 1 year.
The First amendment- Freedom of speech, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government.
The Second amendment- The right of the people to keep and bear arms.
The 3rd amendment- It forbids forcing housing of the military.
The 4th amendment- It protects unreasonable searches and seizures.
The 5th amendment- The right to a speedy trial.
The 6th amendment- It guarantees the right to a lawyer.
The 7th amendment- The right for citizens to have a jury trial.
The 8th amendment- It prevents excessive bail fines.
The 9th amendment- Shall not be required to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
The 10th amendment- The federal government only has the powers that are in the constitution.
