This is Rose. Rose is a student at Washington University and her dream is to make it into the WNBA.

Rose is really good at basketball, she is one of the best players in women's college basketball.

She is very excited for the upcoming WNBA draft. She is so close to making her dream come true!

Prior to the WNBA draft, Rose goes on social media curious about what other people think about the draft. Social media makes Rose upset because they say that the WNBA is boring and women can never make basketball entertaining like men do. 

Rose is aware of the gender diversity within sports. Rose understands why people find men's basketball more entertaining. It's more fast pace, higher scoring, and much more athleticism on display. 

Rose remembers learning about title IX in high school. Title IX was passed in 1972, it was meant to bring equal opportunities for men and women within sports. And yet gender inequality is very much alive today.

Rose remembers how people at her college were willing to pay more to watch the mens team play than the women. The women's basketball team wasn't able to fund nowhere near as much money as the men. This lead to the women feeling marginalized. 

People against women's basketball say that it's boring because there are less dunks, and people think women do not share the same levels of interest in sports as men. This upsets Rose. She loves playing basketball and she wants to prove to the world women's basketball is entertaining.
