This a story about an ancient Egyptian named Amon, Amon was a High priest to the temple of Amun-Ra, and he brought glory to his name and all of his descendants. This is the story of how Amon attained this glory, Amon's Glory
I woke up before sunset to fulfill my duties as High Priest, just as I had the day before, and..... the day before that. I got up with a sigh, "aaaagh" I yawned, " guess I'd better get to work", but, before I could leave my chambers, I had to purify myself. First I would rub my face, legs, arms and head with depilatory cream, then shave my body with a Pumice stone, then I would eat a quick breakfast of roast Goose and bread with beer. Next, I would brush my teeth with a twig frayed at one end, then, I would leave my chambers. As I closed the door to my chambers, I slowly made my way to Amun-ra's chambers to do my sacred duty as High priest, finally, I had arrived at the sacred chambers. Now, I could proceed in my sacred duties, my first task was to anoint the 3-ft. tall statue with sacred oil and perfume, next I had to dress it with ceromonial clothing and offer it food and drink

But, before I could proceed in my task I had to ascend the stone steps to Amun-ra's sacred chambers, as I ascended I thought of that nearby farmer who had lost his 16 Chickens. I felt..... lonely, I wanted to say something, anything even just to ease my sorrow, I felt resentment at my father for giving me this job, in the mornings I had to keep a sacred vow of silence, especially in the holy chambers of the sun god. I silently reminded myself that I did these sacred duties for a reason, to keep Amun-ra happy and from releasing his fiery wrath upon the great empire of Egypt, I also reminded myself that I was paid handsomely for it, and that it was compensation for my sorrow. I stepped through the divine boundary, and into the hallowed chambers of the sun god. Now I could proceed with my duties
It was a slow and sanctified process, but it was for the good of the empire and the blessed royal dynasty. Now I could depart from Amun-ra's chambers, as I was walking away I listened to the loud silence buzzing in my mind, but then, a piercing crash broke the silence of the temple, scaring me half out of my wits, then I recame myself and my only thought was; "Oh no!" the statue. I dashed to the inner chambers of the sun god and saw a small figure darting away from the scene of the crime, "Stop!" I shouted, breathing heavily. I sprinted with a fury I never knew I had, I heard a sound like a cluck from the dark corridors beyond and a little to the left, but figured it was just my imagination. Again I saw the small figure, my heart beating like a drum, I tackled the figure, and gripped them tightly, it felt......feathery, I dragged it into the light of a nearby torch, and, to my surprise, it was a plump chicken!
I realized it was probably the farmers final missing chicken. With the Chicken in my grasp I headed back towards the sun gods inner chambers. I figured someone had stolen the chicken and was walking through the temple and decided to push the statue over and heard my hurried footsteps, and, in their haste to escape, dropped the chicken and ran, and my yells scared the chicken and it ran away. Being careful not to drop the chicken I jogged through the maze of corridors to the exit of the temple, seeing the sunlight of the morning reminded me that lunch was soon, thinking that, I felt a pang of hunger in the pit of my stomach, I hadn't eaten since before sunrise, and my stomach snarled like a ferocious beast out to get it's next victim
Chapter 2; the Pharaoh
As I jogged out the open doorway to the grounds beyond and out between the looming statues that towered above him, and cast there dark shadow across the temples grounds. I heard screams and howls of delight and a cry of; " The Pharaoh, the Pharaoh is here!". Hearing that, I almost dropped the chicken in my excitement. Over on the central pathway in the village, was the Pharaoh riding in a palenquin hoisted by four royal servants with a troop of armoured guards with barbed bronze javelins that shined in the blaring harsh rays of sunlight. Then, from the shade of the palenquin the Pharaoh called out to me in a deep booming sonourus voice, "bring me the high priest!" exulting, I dashed to where the pharaoh lay lounging -
in his soft shaded bed. "priest, I would very much like it if you could accompany me to the palace" the pharaoh commanded, though he said it kindly enough, the instructions were clear; "you are coming with me".
