Country name and location
Morocco, officially known as the Kingdom of Morocco, is a mountainous country of western North Africa that lies directly across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain. If you don't know where that is then read a book or something.
Culture
The primary Berber and Arab cultures of Morocco are complemented by elements of French, Roman, Jewish, Spanish, and other traditions as well due to the land’s many owners throughout its history. So yeah, Morocco is a melting pot of cultures throughout history.
Language
Due to decades of being colonized by multiple European powers at once, French and English are spoken as secondary languages despite Arabic and Berber being the traditional and primary language of the nation.
Religion
More than 99% of the population of Morocco is Sunni Muslim, and less than 0.1 percent of the population is Shia Muslim. Groups together constituting less than 1 percent of the population include Christians, Jews, and Baha’is. If you don't know what the Baha’i religion is, it is basically Islam, the squeal.
Economy
Morocco has suffered many mutually reinforcing shocks in 2022, marked by a severe drought that is exacerbated with a global economic slowdown and rising international commodity prices which in of itself is fueled by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. For this reason, the real GDP growth of the nation has fallen from 8 % in 2021 to 1.3 % in 2022. As the effects of these shocks fade away, growth is accelerating in 2023, supported by the partial recovery of agricultural production, the rebound of the tourism sector, and the positive contribution of net exports. Real GDP annual growth increased to 3 % in the first half of 2023.
History
Alright homies, allow me to break it down for ya. Ever since the Paleolithic period, there have been human settlements and tribes in Morocco. One of them, the Berbers, dominated the region, and still does till this day. Then, out of nowhere, the Phoenicians (a bunch of traders from the Middle East) colonized the Moroccan coast between the 8th and 6th centuries BC. One of their colonies, Carthage, would later become a regional superpower and dominate the region, as well as what is today Iberia, Sardinia, and other parts of the western Mediterranean. But things would not go too well for Carthage, because one of their providence, Sicily (that's the boot in southern Italy for all you uneducated people) was desired by a rising power up north, the Roman Republic. Three Punic Wars later and northwestern Africa is an indivisible part of the Roman Empire, or was it? It all started to get is modern demographics Muhammad's Arabic army conquered North Africa. This caused the caliphate to be born.
History, continued
Well, a little religion call Christianity can and then all of a sudden, Roman control in Morocco was no more.It all started when Muhammad's Arabic army conquered North Africa. This caused the caliphate to be born. Said caliphate was the first nation to recognize the United States’ independence. Eventually the French and Spanish colonized them, two World Wars came and went, they gained independence, and the rest is history.
