This is where daddy pig gets all his  nutrients!

Esophagus

The esophagus transports the food from the mouth to the stomach, it uses mechanical breakdown from muscle contractions to break down the food.

You can feel a cold drink 

go down your throat!

Stomach

The stomach uses both mechanical breakdown from muscle contractions and chemical breakdown from stomach acid to further break down food.

I think daddy pig has a big stomach! haha

Small Intestine

The small intestine breaks food down and absorbs nutrients needed for the body.

It absorbs some nutrients and pushes food to the rectum.

Pancreas

Creates enzymes (speeds up chemical reactions) which help breakdown and digest food, it makes insulin which helps control blood sugar
