My parents were Ay, who later became a pharaoh, and my mother's name is not known. I lived a long time ago, so not everything about my family is clear.

Who where your parents?

I became a queen when I married Akhenaten, who was a pharaoh. Together, we ruled Egypt around 3,300 years ago! I was known for my beauty and strength. 

When did you become a pharaoh?

During my reign, my husband Pharaoh Akhenaten and I built a new city called Akhetaten, which means "Horizon of the Aten." We also built beautiful temples dedicated to the sun god Aten.

That you built during your reign?

I am known for my beauty and power. I ruled Egypt alongside my husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten. We introduced a new religion that worshiped one god, Aten, the sun disc. My famous bust, a beautiful sculpture of me, shows my striking features and royal crown.
