In a cozy little cave, when the day turned to night,
Lived Francine the Bat, who was small and quite bright.
With wings that could flutter and eyes that could see,
Francine dreamed of 'ventures, oh so wild and free!

One evening, as twilight began to unfold,
Francine heard something, a story quite bold.
“It’s a magical place,” said a wise old frog’s croak,
“A freshwater kingdom, where wonders evoke!”

Francine flapped her wings and with excitement did shout,
“I’ll explore this new world, from the inside and out!”
She flew from her cave and followed the tune,
Of the flowing brook's melody under the moon.

Through the trees she did dart and over hills she did glide,
Until she arrived where the river did bide.
The river was lively, with bubbles and gleams,
And Francine was amazed by the beauty she’d seen.

Francine met a fish with scales all aglow,
And asked, “What’s it like where your home waters flow?”
The fish swam in a circle, then said with a grin,
“Our freshwater world is where life begins!
We have plants like the lilies that float on the stream,
And tall reeds that sway, which are part of the dream.
The water is clear, and we all love to play,
In the cool, gentle currents where we swim all day.”

Francine was thrilled and as her wings flapped fast,
She thanked the kind fish, saying, "Learning's a blast!"
Next, she flew to the pond where the turtles all play,
And watched as the dragonflies flew home for the day.
“Hello, dear turtle!” Francine flapped with delight,
“Tell me about this pond that glimmers so bright.”
The turtle replied with a smile and stare,
“This pond is a haven, with life everywhere.

"...The frogs croak in chorus, and the insects all buzz,
We have cattails and water lilies—all the things I just love!
The pond’s water is precious, it’s a home for us all,
From the tiniest life to the biggest rainfalls.”

Francine thanked the turtle and soared to a lake,
Where she saw the swans that she called to awake.
A swan waved a wing and invited her near,
To share the lake’s story, so Francine could hear.
“Our lake is quite grand, with a deep, fertile space,
It’s perfect for many lifeforms to embrace.
The water is calm, and we float with such ease,
While the fish play below and the breeze brings us peace.”
