Living things are all around us. Plants, animals, mushrooms, and so much more. Now, with so many species and creatures, how do we organize them all?

Well, first we put them into generic categories called, Kingdoms. We are going to talk about them all and even give some examples. By the end, you will be able to place all the living things you see!
There are 6 Kingdoms...
Let's start with the first! Animals!
Animals

Animals are pretty familiar to us. However, what makes them animals- Let's see...
- Are Multicellular- (they have multiple cells)
- All are Heterotrophic- (They can't make their own food)
- All animals can move on their own
- They must eat to survive

Animals are then put into two categories:
Invertebrates and vertebrates.
Invertebrates do not have a backbone, such as centipedes or worms.
Vertebrates do have a backbone, such as humans, cats, and dogs.
Plantae or Plants
Plants are also pretty well known. However, let's see what makes them plants...
- They are multicellular- (have many cells)
- Are autotrophic- (can make their own food)
- Through photosynthesis, using water, air, and sunlight
- Cannot move around on their own

Plants can be placed into two different categories:
Vascular and non-vascular plants. Most are vascular!
Vascular plants soak up water through their roots. Like trees and flowers.
Nonvascular plants use their whole bodies to soak up water
Eubacteria

Now, yes there are bad bacteria however this is also good bacteria. Like what is used to help make yogurt. SO... what makes it eubacteria?
- Are unicellular- (They are made up of one cell)
- Are free living
- Are decomposers- (break dead
plants and animals into the soil)
- Are prokaryotic- (They have no distinct nucleus)
- They make more of it's self by splitting in half repeatedly
Some Examples:
- Streptococcus pneumoniae (strep throat)
- Lactobacillus acidophilus (help digest foods in your stomach)
