In a small town in Hungary, a puppy named Cola was born. She was a little dog with pointy ears, soft brown and white fur, and a wagging little tail that never seemed to stop.
Cola had one big dream, to find a family who would love her forever. “I’ll have a cozy bed, fun toys, and someone to play with me,” she thought happily as she dreamt about other dogs with their families.
One day, Cola’s dream seemed to come true. A man from a faraway place named Canada saw her photo online and adopted her.
She felt excited and nervous all at once. “This must be my forever family!” She thought. The plane ride was long, but Cola kept imagining her new life. She did not know much about Canada, but she knew it was a place where people cared for their pets. Or so she hoped.
Cola arrived in Canada and had many different emotions and feelings. She was nervous and felt overwhelmed with her new surroundings in this new and strange place.
At first, Cola was happy, but soon things did not feel right.
Her new family didn’t play with her or cuddle her.
They left her alone in the yard for hours, even on cold, rainy days.
“They feed me and give me water,” Cola thought sadly, “but they don’t love me.”
Sometimes, they made her have puppies when she wasn’t ready. Cola felt tired and scared. She wished for someone to notice how unhappy she was.
Cola sat quietly in the corner of the house, her eyes tearing up as she watched the neighborhood dogs play. “I thought I’d be loved here,” She wanted to believe that someone, somewhere, would treat her like she mattered. But for now, all she could do was dream.
One day, a kind cat came into the yard. The cat was smart and could sense Cola’s sadness.
“Little dog,” the cat said softly, “you deserve to be loved. I’ll help you find a family that will care for you the way you deserve.”
Cola looked at the cat with hope in her eyes. Her tail wagged just a little. Could things really get better?
The cat kept its promise to Cola, not long after going to the adoption shelter she found a new family who wanted to take her home.
