Alex had just in a big argument with his 

mother. He stormed out of the house 

and walked to the park down the road. 

He sat under a tree and wept.

He thought about all the great 

comebacks he could have used against 

his mother. He contemplated running 

away but he had no choice but to 

return to his house. He stood up and 

began to pace back and forth down the 

warm cement pathway.

As he looked up towards the clouds the 

ground began to shake. The geese flew 

into the sky and screamed. I clutched 

onto a nearby tree to make sure I 

stayed upright. As the ground shook I 

thought about what safety 

precautions I learned in boy scouts 

would be beneficial in this time of need. 

I panicked and sprinted as fast as my 

legs would take me. I regretted 

storming out of the house because 

now I was running back to my mom for 

help. After running down the street for 

about thirty seconds I heard a loud 

bang. I looked around and saw a power 

line falling and sparks showering down. 

A tear began to roll down my face.
