storytelling?

I could use a digital story to collaborate with
all classroom teachers whose students I see
once every 6 days in the library. Kindergarten
could complete a basic story with characters,
setting, problem, and solution. The sixth
graders could create a more advanced product
by doing book trailers. The students I have
that are more technologically advanced could
be paired with a student who was not as
comfortable with technology or needed more
help. I could see the sixth graders being
paired with the younger students as a book
buddy.

In the article Down to Earth Digital Storytelling,
by Dusty Gabel, she makes the point that today's
learners have grown up with technology and the
internet and teachers need to match teaching
strategies with today's learning styles of our
students. Using digital stories in the library will fit
easily into my curriculum because I am already
reading and sharing traditional stories with my
students.
