Rome Topic 1
Plumbing
The Roman's had straight tunnels underneath their city
with running water to get rid of trash and waste. These
tunnels also kept the city from flooding in a large
downfall, the water would gather in the streets, but
with plumbing, they could put grates on the streets and
water would go into there and not the streets. Also
water could be transported from one place to another
this way. We use this today in similar ways. We use
plumbing to carry waste away and bring fresh
drinking/cooking water to our houses. Also to keep our
streets from flooding.
