It was 8:30 in the morning and from my
room I could smell the food that my parents
were cooking for tonight's Christmas party.
As I got out of bed I could hear my little
brother playing around in the living room
and saying that it was Christmas Day.

I hurried to change my clothes and went
down stairs right away. By the time I got
down there, I could see my parents and
little brother dressed perfectly, or l would
say young today.

“Good morning Vi,” the three of them said.
“Good morning to you too mom, dad, and my
little bro,” I replied.
“I see that all of you remembered to do the
first part of our family tradition,” I added.
Seeing the smiles on all their faces was
obviously a ‘yes we did not forget’ answer. Every
year my family and I would get together and as
always dress up opposite of our age. That
meaning the adults would dress up as their
younger selves and us kids will dress up as our
older selves or who we want to be in the future.

“Little bro lets get the decorations and tables
set up.” My brother and I actually did most of
the work yesterday so all we needed to do was
add the final touches. By the time we finished,
my parents had already put the food on the
table.

“I think that this is good enough to make our
guests impressed,” said my mom. Yup! I know
for sure this will, man I'm so excited hopefully
our family will come soon.
Before my family would start arriving, the
four of us had a quick check around the house
and also ourselves. Today was an important
day that only comes once a year.

A few minutes later we heard singing from the other
side of the door, “We wish you merry Christmas, we
wish you a merry Christmas…”
“They've come, they've come!!!”, my brother
exclaimed. All of us rushed to the door and when we
opened it we could see all of our family members
standing there dressed opposite their age and holding
lots of presents. We lead them into our living room to
put the presents by the Christmas tree. My dad
started telling everyone to start getting food to eat.
Dinner with the family was always filled with laughter
here.

After everyone had finished eating we all
gathered into the living room to open our
presents. This year compared to last year
had way more presents. Everyone got a
present and each one of us was satisfied
with what we got.
