Once upon a time, there was a cafe called Protein 

Synthesis. In this cafe there was a large recipe book.

The book was filled with DNA recipes. One day the head chef 

wrote out the days recipes on the black board in the back of 

the kitchen. The recipe book represents the Nucleus. 

DNA Soup: AATCGATTGGCTG

DNA Cookies: TTCGATCGTA

DNA Rolls: CCCGGGAAATTTG

The act of rewriting the recipes is called transcription, and the 

words written in chalk represents mRNA. The ingredients from 

the recipe book include: Adenine, Thymine, Guanine, and 

Cytosine. As the head chef writes out the recipe he notices that 

they are out of Thymine so he substitutes it with Uracil.
