Dad my teacher asked us to go home and learn the 6 traits of writing can you help?
Well son I will help you the best that I can. First I will tell you the 6 traits: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions.
What do all of those mean?
Well when writing your ideas they must be interesting and have a clear purpose so no one gets lost about what is going on and also hold the readers attention from beginning to the end.
So by having a clear purpose it will help hold the readers attention?
Yes because the story will flow better point from point this will also help keep your audience in mind because you stick to your topic.

Okay what is next?
Next is organization, when organizing your writing you should always have a clear beginning middle and end as well as transitions to help connect one idea to the other.
Right, because if you didn’t have good organization your story wouldn’t make sense and really wouldn’t be a story.
Exactly, the next trait is voice and in your story the voice should be yours and have a special way of expressing ideas while also showing personality.
Okay so when I right I should only use my words and not use other people’s words as my own.
Yes because using others words as your own is wrong and also the story would not be as personal because of this.
