What is fear
that is so dear
is it to survive
and not to thrive
not just there
to side with dares
brings sweat and tears
do people care
taking risk too far
2
has it helped in a grind
in our body and mind
a neural response
opposite of nonchalance
oh give me your ear
and I will tell you fear

Fear can be applied to three theories, the James-Lange Theory, Cannon-Bard Theory, and the Two-factor Theory
5

Heart Pounding

6
Physiological characteristics of fear such as a racing heart that is experienced first, then the emotion fear shows the concept of James-Langes theory. When our bodily reactions to a stimulus comes before the emotion it demonstrates this theory.
7

8
When sweating occurs at the same time of feeling the emotion fear, this would demonstrate Cannon-Bard Theory because the bodily reaction and emotion are happening at the same time but are separate from each other. This is because the brain sends neural impulses to other parts of the brain and the autonomic nervous system (at the same time).

Heart Pounding
"I'm afraid"

Fear
10
When our heart races and our brains think and interpret the stimulus to create the emotion fear, it is demonstrating the concept of the two-factor theory. This theory states that the physiological response and our cognition's create our emotions
11

Allows more light in.

12
The facial features of fear are different from other emotions because in fear the brows are raised and the eyes widen allowing more light to go into the eyes for more sensory input.
