Hello, my name is Bob.

I am scared today because my classmates and I have to take a test on rounding and I am not good at it.

If I don't pass the test, my grade will go down and my parents will be mad at me.

Then Bob thought of studying with his math study guide, but he left it at school. So he decided to look in his number book and see if there was any rounding in it. "There has to be some rounding in this," said Bob. "Numbers are used for rounding."

Then something happened: His book was shaking really fast. "What's happening?" said Bob. The book all of a sudden went ...

Numbers flew out of his book and Bob could see they were numbers 1 to 10. "Hello there, kid!" said the numbers excitedly.

"Say!" Bob said shocked. "You're the numbers 1-10!"
"Of course we are," said the number 1. "I've heard that you needed help with something called rounding, right?"

"Yes," said Bob sadly. "I am so terrible at rounding." The numbers looked at each other, then one of them, the number 2 said, "I guess we could help." "Oh, thank you so much!" said Bob excitedly.

"Rounding, of course, is pretty simple," said the number 2. "All you do is take a number and round it to either tens, hundreds or possibly more." Bob watched the number 2 quietly, but got confused. "But how would you know if you have to go up or down?" he said.

"Well," said the number 3 with a grin, "If the number to the right is less then 5, you keep the same value. If 5 or greater, then push it up to the next number." "You look to the right," said the number 4, who came down next to 3. "Like this," he said as he showed an example with his magic wand.
