Lenin was the reality start of Karl Marx´s communist beliefs. He would lead this with a group of professional revolutionaries called the Bolsheviks.

To start with this reality, the Provisional Government that had gained power in the March Revolution had to overthrown by the Bolsheviks.

The Bolsheviks overthrow the Provisional Government in the October Revolution. Now, Lenin would rise to power and be the new leader of Russia.

Lenin said that he would give the people of Russia peace, bread, and land.

Lenin gave them peace by signing a peace treaty with Germany to get Russia out of WWI. Also, Lenin gave them land by redistributing all of the land so that land was with poor and rich people.

Lenin could not stay in power forever. So eventually, a new man would rise to power for better or for worse. Joseph Stalin.

The Great Purge happened under the rule of Stalin. Many enemies and friends were killed during this war.

Next, Stalin started the Five Year Plan to help industrialize the country. Shortages occurred and production of consumer goods were limited.

Stalin forced us, the peasants, to work on collective farms making food for the state. We could also work on state farms that ran like factories.
