I have created some steps to help you. If you follow these steps, the probability of finding your dog increases.

As soon as you realize your dog is missing, you must first construct a graph. This way, you know how far he has traveled.
Dogs usually walk at a rate of 2 mph.
You noticed the last time you saw your dog was 3 hours ago. What is the farthest your dog has traveled?

Once you realize how far your dog has walked, search that area.
Keep in mind, if your dog does pass the 10 mile radius, every mile he walks will add 5% to the likelihood of not being found.
What if your dog walked 14 miles? What are your chances of not finding him?

Now that you know how far he has traveled. You need to get friends to help you search the area around you. What is the area you should have covered at 3 miles? At 10 miles?
