"We are now entering the body through the skin!" Said Ms. Frizzle. Peter said "The skin is the outermost protective layer of the body! and is a nonspecific defense!"

" That’s right Peter!" Ms. Frizzle remarked, "We probably should enter through the nose instead!"

" Whats that green sticky stuff?" asked Julie. Peter replied " That’s mucus; its function is to flush out bacteria trying to enter the body" Ms. Frizzle said" Peter want to go outside the magic bus and collect a sample?"

*rumbling sound* Peter exclaimed "OH NO! The nose hairs think the bus is bacteria…. HOLD ON!" The Magic School Bus and the gang suddenly got flushed out of the nose!

"Good thing I grabbed onto that nose hair!" says Peter, " I guess they have a greater function than just keeping out bacteria!"

"I found the blood vessels!" Said Peter!

"Hey look at that inflammation! remarked Peter. "The white blood cells are coming to help and are my favorite part of the specific defense!"

" These white blood cells are a special type called T cells." Peter said.
