Hi my name is Emily and this is my pet pig. Her name is Piggy. Today we are going to talk about the desert.

Did you know that a desert is a biome. A biome is a large peace of land that has animals and plants living or growing on it. So today we are talking about the desert's climate , animals, and plants that it has.

The desert can be really hot during the day, but at night,it get's cold. The deserts temperature during the day is 113* and at night it is 32*. That is a big temperature difference.

It's really hot.

Since the desert is so hot, there is little rainfall. The average amount of rainfall a year, is 3-10 inches.

Always bring extra water to drink.

Since there is little rainfall, some of the animals and plants, store water in them self. Storing water helps the animals and plants surviving much longer without finding water as much.

. A camel stores water in it's hump. A cactus also stores water. Cactus's store what in the middle.

Most animals that live in the desert, adapt to the climate. There are many animals that live in the desert. Some animals that live in the desert are snakes, lizards, tarantulas, coyotes, camels, and many more.

Fun Fact: Did you know that not all desert aren't hot, there are some cold desert. One desert that is cold is the Gobi Desert.
